Now that Taffy’s learned the rules, she’s ready to break them with avant garde cuts and dyes. It’s just a matter of finding peeps in the Melbourne area ready for a defining cut.
All cuts are welcome – but Taffy’s favorite cuts include shags, mullets, and fun haircuts. That said, she always enjoys cutting a classic lob.
Taffy is a self-described “chameleon” and loves changing her style on a day to day basis. With skills in makeup and hair, Taffy draws inspiration from artists of all mediums to execute trendy and queer cuts. Her main inspo? Lady Gaga… and her cats.
“Nothing,” she says, “compares to my love for my cats and Mother Monster herself.”
Taffy moved started doing hair in Melbourne a few years ago after graduating from the Paul Mitchell school in Orlando. She’s been doing cuts and dyes in Melbourne since 2017.
When it comes to stuff to do in Melbourne, Florida – Taffy has one particular fav: Backwater downtown. The vegan menu is to-die-for, Taffy says. If you’re into hip vegan restaurants, check ‘em out.
Taffy’s interest in vegan practices also filters into her work: All of her products she uses at Glamour Lounge are eco-friendly and Green Circle certified. Vegan friendly hair styling is a priority for Taffy and Glamour Lounge uses products that don’t test on animals and use exclusively vegan friendly ingredients.
Taffy is excited for her role at Glamour Lounge to develop – she wants to bring on new hairstylists and grow the team, as well as continue her education. Taffy is excited to be pursuing more knowledge on dye techniques so she can bring more rainbow haircuts to Melbourne.
